Neuromodulation refers to minimally invasive therapies that use electrical stimulation or infusions to modify nerve activity. Dr Poply offers spinal cord stimulation (SCS), multifidus and peripheral nerve stimulators, occipital nerve stimulation, as well as advanced pharmacologic infusions (e.g., intravenous lignocaine) and Anti CGRP treatment.

  • Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS): For back pain, sciatica, diabetic neuropathy, CRPS, osteoarthritic pains.
  • Dorsal Root Ganglion stimulator: CRPS, Back pain, Pelvic, abdominal, knee and ankle pain
  • Multifidus stimulation: Non-specific mechanical back pain
  • Peripheral Nerve Stimulation: Targeted for shoulder, hip, ankle pains.
  • Occipital Nerve Stimulation: For chronic migraine and cluster headaches.

  • Anti-CGRP Therapies: Can be considered as part of neuromodulation for refractory headaches and migraines.

Assessment: Detailed history and examination to confirm diagnosis.

Diagnostic Blocks: Medial branch, dorsal root, stellate ganglion, or peripheral nerve blocks to predict response as deemed appropriate.

Radiofrequency ablation or Pulse radiofrequency- Step up procedure as deemed appropriate

Neuromodulation- In certain cases as deemed appropriate within advance treatment option

Follow-up & Programming: Individualized stimulator programming for optimal pain control.

Ideal candidates are adults with chronic, refractory pain that has not responded adequately to conventional medical or surgical treatments. A multidisciplinary evaluation ensures suitability and maximises positive outcomes.
